Monster Hunter Wilds Teams Up with Final Fantasy XIV!
I just got the most exciting news from Gamescom 2025 - Monster Hunter Wilds is collaborating with Final Fantasy XIV! 🎮✨ As someone who's been playing both games religiously, this announcement completely made my day.
The crossover, revealed during the YouTube stream of Gamescom Opening Night Live, will bring iconic FFXIV elements into the Monster Hunter universe. We're talking about riding Chocobos through the Forbidden Lands people! How amazing is that? The update is scheduled for late September, which feels like forever to wait but will be totally worth it.
What to Expect from the Collaboration:
🚀 Chocobo Mounts - Finally we can ride those iconic yellow birds in Monster Hunter! The mounts in Wilds were already giving me Final Fantasy vibes, so this just feels natural
⚔️ Omega Weapon Battle - We'll get to fight the massive mechanical creature from FFXIV, complete with its devastating Wave Cannon attack
🎯 New Gear and Items - While specific details are still coming, I'm hoping for some awesome crossover armor sets
Why This Collaboration Makes Sense
This isn't the first time these two franchises have worked together. Back in 2018, Monster Hunter: World brought Rathalos to Final Fantasy XIV during the "King of the Skies" event. That collaboration was fantastic, and this new one feels even more ambitious.
Both games have had their challenges this year though:
